Please note all compulsory courses in the first year are required for the award of LLB Honours on this programme. In addition, all compulsory courses are required for progression towards legal practice in Scotland.

If you wish to study a law course, 'Introduction to Criminology (LAWS08137)', 'Introduction to Criminal Justice (LAWS08136)', 'Civil Law Ordinary (LAWS08104)', 'International Law (semester one) (LAWS08114)', 'International Law Ordinary 2 (LAWS08140)', and 'Employment Law (LAWS08120)' will be available.

Year 2 Academic year: 2019/20, Starting in: August

Notes:
All compulsory courses with the exception of 'Jurisprudence (LAWS08129)' are required for progression towards legal practice as a solicitor in Scotland. However, 'Jurisprudence (LAWS08129)' is required for the award of the LLB on this programme.

Students not wishing to progress towards legal practice may substitute other law courses at level 8, or any level 8 course from schedules A to Q, T and W, for some or all of those courses not required for the award of LLB on this programme ('Business Entities LAWS08134', 'Commercial Law Ordinary LAWS08131', 'Succession and Trust Law LAWS08130', 'Evidence (Ordinary) LAWS08141').

Please note, students who may be retaking a compulsory course, it is possible that there may be timetable clashes.

Students who opt to spend their third year abroad will be expected to do the equivalent of 120 credits. All students who spend their third year abroad must also take the compulsory course 'Advanced Legal Writing (Online) LAWS10214'.
