1. Before selecting your outside courses, please ensure you have met your Personal Tutor.
2. Students can select up to 40 credits of Level 7 elective courses, across Years 1 and 2 (not per year).
3. To continue without the need for an extension to the total period of study, a full-time student must attain a minimum of 80 credits by the end of Year 1.

BMus Music_Year 1 options

Select between 0 and 60 credits of the following courses
Notes:
Fundamentals of Music Theory - This course is compulsory for students who do not have an A in Music at Advanced Higher or A Level.
Performance 1 - Students taking this course should have Grade VIII ABRSM or equivalent on their first instrument.
AND

Level 7 and 8 courses in Schedules A to Q, T and W

Select between 0 and 60 credits from Level 7 and 8 courses in Schedules A to Q, T and W
Notes:
Please exclude Centre for Open Learning courses with codes beginning LLL.

Year 2 Academic year: 2019/20, Starting in: August

Notes:
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS THE SECOND YEAR OF THE PREVIOUS BMus DEGREE PROGRAMME.

1. Before selecting your outside courses, please ensure you have met your Personal Tutor.
2. Students can select up to 40 credits of Level 7 elective courses, across Years 1 and 2 (not per year).
3. To progress into Junior Honours, students must obtain an average of 40% and pass at least 200 credits by the completion of the August examination diet at the end of their second year.
Please note that there is no opportunity to transfer into Senior Honours at the end of the Third Ordinary year.

Notes:
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS THE THIRD YEAR OF THE PREVIOUS BMus DEGREE PROGRAMME.

1. Before selecting your outside courses, please ensure you have met your Personal Tutor.
2. Students are permitted to take 40 credits across Year 3 and Year 4 in an outside subject (Traditional Music & Traditional Song courses from the Scottish Ethnology department are not considered as outside subjects).
3. To progress into year 4 students must pass all courses (360 credits); in exceptional circumstances, with the permission of the Board and CSPC concession, students may be permitted to carry up to 40 credits into final honours year.

Notes:
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS THE FOUTH YEAR OF THE PREVIOUS BMus DEGREE PROGRAMME.

2. Students are permitted to take 40 credits across Year 3 and Year 4 in an outside subject (Traditional Music & Traditional Song courses from the Scottish Ethnology department are not considered as outside subjects).

There are no compulsory courses in this year of this programme.
