Year 2 Academic year: 2019/20, Starting in: August

Notes:
Students who have passed courses to the required value of 240 credits, and achieved marks of 50% or more at the first attempt in all required second-year courses for their registered degree, are automatically entitled to progress to honours. Students who are planning on spending their Junior Year Abroad must successfully progress to honours before they can proceed on their exchange.

Year 3 Academic year: 2019/20, Starting in: August

Notes:

Students considering the Social Anthropology Dissertation must take Imagining Anthropological Research in Year 3.

Students considering the Economic and Social History Dissertation are highly recommended to take History in Practice in Year 3.

There are no compulsory courses in this year of this programme.

Students intending to take the Social Anthropology Dissertation in Year 4 are required to take this zero-credit course as preparation.

Social Anthropology Honours Electives - Level 10

Notes:
Students wishing to take Culture and Power (SCAN10030) are encouraged to do so in Year 4.

Social History Honours Electives

Notes:
Historical Skills & Methods II is strongly recommended if intending to take a Dissertation in Social History.

Please note that the topic for tutorial groups and essays for HIST10426 Historical Skills and Methods I and HIST10247 Historical Skills and Methods II must be in Social History

Year 4 Academic year: 2019/20, Starting in: August

Notes:
Students taking the Social Anthropology Dissertation must have taken Imagining Anthropological Research (SCAN10037) in Year 3.

Students taking the History Dissertation are strongly recommended to have taken History in Practice.

There are no compulsory courses in this year of this programme.

Students taking the Social Anthropology Dissertation are expected to use the summer vacation of their third year on research.

If taking the dissertation in History, the topic of the dissertation must be in Social History.
