    This intermediate course in philosophy of language explores topics in the philosophy of language in greater depth than in Mind, Matter, and Language. The course might cover topics such as: the nature of meaning, the role of semantic theory, speech act theory, the relation between thought and language, the social role of language, and particular linguistic constructions.
