Course description This course introduces students to the practice of politics and international relations outside academia. It helps students to understand potential career routes after graduation and the ways in which knowledge and skills acquired in PIR degrees relate to careers. The course is based around presentations by former PIR graduates which share insights about their own paths during their studies and afterward, and which are available for students' questions. The course will be assessed through a short reflective essay, in which students reflect on points made by the keynote speakers and how they might relate to their own career choices, and their working towards them. Awards are made on a pass/fail basis. Pass/Fail compulsory for progression to honours on MA Politics or MA International Relations (incl with Quants Methods).
