Aims:
1. To introduce students to the techniques of recording, analysis, and supporting research.
2. To create an awareness of appropriate standards in recording and analysis

This course combines considerable on-site instruction with supporting lectures and project seminars.

Students are required to submit a group report, focusing in depth on the historical and archaeological aspects of a historical building (or several buildings in comparison with one another) and presentation
Coursework (100%).

Formative oral feedback is given throughout the course during project seminars and at the Final Project Presentations.
After submission of coursework, written feedback and grades are given corresponding to each learning outcome.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Acquire skills for carrying out relevant historical research.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the variety of recording methods, and competence in applying them to survey and analysis of historic buildings.
- Display organisational, verbal and presentational skills specific to Building Analysis.
