SummarySmall group tutorials and whole group seminars covering all aspects of Honours Biochemistry, with particular emphasis on paper analysis, and developing and applying data interpretation, problem solving and presentation skills. Culminates in the Synoptic exam in Semester 2 exam diet, which is an analysis of a current research paper.
Course description Small group tutorials and whole class presentations are an integral part of the Biochemistry Honours programme. The focus of both components is the critical analysis and interpretation of research papers. In small (3-6 students/tutor) tutorial groups you will review and discuss in detail past exam papers, copies of which are available on the library's web site. In class seminars, students will present and discuss current research papers orally.

Tutorials and seminars also provide tailored support for specific aspects of the programme. Tutorials are student-led and your group is encouraged to suggest topics for meetings with your tutor; for example you may wish to explore a topic in greater depth, or to have clarification of a particularly difficult concept. A discussion group on Learn will allow groups to share their tutorial topics, and any related material, with other students in the class.

In the seminars, each student presents twice in the year, and will receive written feedback on their presentation skills from both staff and peers.
