Course description |
The nature of strategic leadership will be deconstructed and together with guest speakers, will explore the responsibilities and behaviours involved in leading and governing companies ethically in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world.
Syllabus
The role of business in society and the implications of global challenges for business leadership
Leading strategy in a VUCA world
Strategic leadership as a multilevel endeavour (individual, group, and organisational)
The strategic leadership development process: developing strategic leadership capacity
Leading strategic change in organisations
Collaborative leadership and alliances in strategy
Student Learning Experience
This course focuses on interaction with a range of faculty and guest speakers exploring key topics on strategic leadership, supported by background reading and a leadership-focused assignment. The interactive talks will encourage students to share their own experiences on leadership and the implementation of strategy. The course is supported with slides, articles, internet resources and cases which are published through the LEARN platform.
