SummaryThe dissertation is an extended piece of scholarship in which students have the opportunity to study in depth a topic largely of their own choosing in the field of economics which utilises econometrics. It is the component of a master's programme which most clearly differentiates it as an advanced degree programme, and is the point at which the student progresses from structured coursework to independent study.
