SummaryThe course will provide students with basic skills to communicate in Turkish. It will cover some other tenses: second form of past tense, future perfect. Reading will be included to practice these tenses and new vocabulary will be introduced.
Course description Turkish 1b aims to teach the structure of the Turkish language through Istanbul A2 course book. This book covers the reported past and the aorist tenses, the imperative and optative moods, noun&adjective making suffixes, punctuations, the ability suffix, -dIr suffix, direct speech and subordinating verbs and phrases in Turkish.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Students will become familiar with the derived forms of the Turkish verb.
  2. Students will learn to conjugate Turkish verbs in the past, present and future.
  3. Students will expand their Turkish lexicon and be familiar with some basic vocabulary from the fields of culture, history, politics and literature.
  4. Students will learn to talk and write about their daily lives, past experiences and future plans.
  5. Students will learn to translate lower intermediate level texts from Turkish into English and vice versa.
