|Summary||This course is designed to further develop students primary knowledge of Persian. The course introduces the main features of Persian grammar together with a vocabulary in an interactive communicative setting. It is designed to provide students with the key tools to understand, speak, read and write elementary Persian.
The course follows a combination of the exercises and photocopied extracts from different books. Translation, writing and grammar exercises are regularly given as homework, which is later corrected and analysed.

Examinations - end of term Time-Limited Assignment 60% (written and oral)
||Feedback is frequently given to students in different forms for their different tasks such as home works, translations, weekly tests, compositions, oral presentations and aural exercises. Both oral and written, individual and group feedback are given for during the semester. Both summative and formative feedbacks are important.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand and acquire knowledge of different structures of Persian grammar and carry out basic translation of a passage from and into Persian.tures of Persian grammar. They will be able to form longer sentences through joining phrases and write in different tenses in Persian.
- Form longer sentences through joining phrases and write 70-90 words in different tenses and grammatical constructs in Persian.
- Read simple text using a range of vocabulary on a range of different topics.
- Understand simple everyday familiar topics and carry out conversation in elementary Persian to introduce them and describe simple situations.
- Acquire knowledge of Iranian culture as learning Persian takes place against a context of Persian culture and civilization.
