| Summary | The course will consider the nature of curricula, curriculum design and its impact upon teaching and learning. Theoretical underpinnings will be considered and their application in practice discussed.
Evidence from the literature and relevant policy will support learners¿ analysis of their practice within their context. For example:
- International policy, recommendations and guidelines (eg WHO, European guidelines)
- Recommendations and guidelines at national level (E.G. GMC, NMC, GDA, Royal Colleges, and government agencies).
- The explicit and hidden curriculum
- Educational theories and current practices (E.G. constructive alignment)
Participants are encouraged to reflect upon current practice to explore the strengths and limitations of educational approaches such as competency-based education. |
| Course description |
Online environments are used for the teaching, learning and assessment of all courses on the MSc programme. This includes the Waverley Suite, allowing interactive visual, audio, textural and graphical modes of communication, in the same synchronous or asynchronous event.
