SummaryThe aim of this course is to review the interface between paediatric dentistry and the practice of orthodontics.
Course description This course aims to review the aetiology, presentation, diagnosis and management of combined paediatric / orthodontic presentations.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Describe the importance of monitoring the developing dentition
  2. Utilise a screening tool for the identification of occlusal problems
  3. Identify specific circumstances when interceptive orthodontics may be beneficial
  4. Describe the orthodontic, restorative and surgical management of a range of paediatric-orthodontic conditions
  5. Appreciate which patients require referral to secondary care service
