Summary | In providing an opportunity to study a particular topic in depth, the dissertation will consolidate the knowledge and understanding gained from the first two years of study. Each student will be encouraged to discern how achievable their project is in the timescale. Help desks including a statistics help-desk will be run alongside their learning. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- To put into practice the applied knowledge, skills and understanding by planning and executing a significant project of research, investigation or development. This will take the form of an independent project (this might be a systematic review, clinical audit or a primary data collection project) (SCFQ 11.2)
- Students will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of chosen research topic, identify, conceptualise and offer original and creative insights into novel information and/or recently published data, or data collected by themselves on site at their workplace.
- Develop practical experience in their own workplace setting of demonstrating leadership and making an identifiable contribution to change and development and new thinking (SCFQ 11.3).
- Show autonomy, accountability and working with others. (SCQF 11.5)
