| Summary | Through this online distance learning course students will gain an understanding of the principles of financial management and governance in the context of public health projects. Students will also develop core practical skills around financial management and reporting in this context. |
| Course description |
This is a 10 credit, 5 week course delivered entirely online. It is designed to equip students both with a theoretical understanding of governance and financial management principles and with opportunities to apply these in the context of simulated public health projects.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate critical knowledge of the principles of public health project management, focusing on critical evaluation of governance structures and the budgetary process.
- Apply these principles by constructing and critically reviewing budgets and variance reports, identifying areas where action is required to maintain budgetary integrity.
- Make informed judgements on adjustments to budgetary controls in the absence of complete or consistent data/information.
