| Summary | The course provides an in-depth and critical analysis of 'race' and ethnicity. In so doing the course will explore differing theoretical explanations of 'race' and ethnicity, and critically compare actual manifestations in different social settings. The course will also investigate the relationships between 'race', ethnicity, identity and wider social processes such as changing ideas about and experiences of racism, ethnicity, gender, migration, social mobility, immigration, and social justice. The course is multi-disciplinary in perspective and will draw on work from across sociological, political, historical, economic and anthropological ways of thinking about and conceptualising 'race' and ethnicity. |

- Critically engage with differing theoretical perspectives regarding 'race' and ethnicity
