Summary | This course will cover the principles of mathematical modelling of biological processes, disease dynamics and control. |
Course description |
This course will cover the principles of mathematical modelling of biological processes, disease dynamics and control. The student will gain an understanding of how mathematical modelling can provide a powerful tool for increasing our understanding of disease dynamics and for predicting the likely outcomes of control strategies. The student will also learn the methods and approaches of modelling and how to practically evaluate disease models and their predictions.
NB: The course will not teach the students to write computer code but will use generic software to allow the students to run simulation models
