Course description |
The course aims to develop the student¿s skills and knowledge in a specific area of infectious diseases and One Health. The project may be performed in any of the three academic partner universities or in one of the Associate Partner institutions. All students will have at least one supervisor from one of the Academic Partner universities. The project will involve techniques including but not limited to those experienced in the first three semesters of the programme. The student will work as an independent researcher and interact with other laboratory members as a full member of the group, including presenting at laboratory meetings. The dissertation will be in the format of a short scientific paper for a relevant journal.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of an advanced area of infectious diseases and One Health
- Demonstrate the ability to design and carry out experiments independently
- Demonstrate understanding of the etiquette and requirements for harmonious laboratory work and the ability to work as part of a research team
- Present the results of a research project in professional format
- Demonstrate understanding of the ethical issues and paid attention to the principles of reduction, replacement, and refinement in animal research
