Notes:
In order to attain the award of the LLB (Ord) (Graduate Entry) a student is required to hold 360 credits. A candidate for the LLB (Ord) (Graduate Entry) holding, at the commencement of their studies in the School of Law, a degree from the University of Edinburgh or an institution of comparable standing, may be credited with 120 credits (80 credits at level 10 and 40 credits at level 8) which count towards the required 360 credits.

Crediting a student holding such a degree with 120 credits reduces the period of full-time study required to obtain the necessary 360 credits from three years to two years. During those two years the student will take 240 credits of law courses (120 credits taken each year).

All compulsory courses are required for the award of the LLB (Ord) (Graduate Entry) on this programme. In addition, all compulsory courses are required for progression towards legal practice in Scotland. Moreover, the Law Society of Scotland requires that the student takes 240 credits of law subjects in order to obtain a qualifying degree. Therefore, all courses taken on the LLB (Ord)(Graduate Entry) must be law courses if the student wishes to obtain a qualifying degree for legal practice.

Before selecting any optional courses please ensure that you have met your Personal Tutor.
