Year 3 Academic year: 2020/21, Starting in: August

Notes:
Students who have passed 240 credits and achieved marks of 50% or more at the first attempt in all required PIR second-year degree courses are entitled to progress to honours.

Students who are planning on spending their Junior Year Abroad must successfully progress to honours before they can proceed on their JYA.

There are no compulsory courses in this year of this programme.

Politics Year 3 Electives

Notes:
Students intending to take the Politics Dissertation are strongly encouraged to take Research Design in Politics & International Relations (PLIT10106)

Historical Skills and Methods I and II

Select between 0 and 40 credits of the following courses
Notes:
Historical Skills & Methods II is strongly recommended if intending to take Dissertation in Economic and Social History.

Please note that the topic for tutorial groups and essays for HIST10426 Historical Skills and Methods I and HIST10247 Historical Skills and Methods II must be in Economic and Social History

Year 4 Academic year: 2020/21, Starting in: August

POLITICS AND ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL HISTORY COMPULSORY COURSES: In their 4th year, Students MUST TAKE either the Politics Dissertation - 40 credits or the History Dissertation - 40 credits (the topic for the History Dissertation MUST BE in Economic and Social History).

There are no compulsory courses in this year of this programme.

POLITICS AND ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL HISTORY COMPULSORY COURSES: In their 4th year, Students MUST TAKE either the Politics Dissertation - 40 credits or the History Dissertation - 40 credits (the topic for the History Dissertation MUST BE in Economic and Social History).
Students must pass the Dissertation to be awarded an MA Honours.
