SummaryMLA Landscape Portfolio 1 consists of a portfolio of landscape design projects. These projects are designed to test theories, integrate knowledge, understanding and skills in the resolution of landscape design problems and issues. The project content of the portfolio is the result of an agreement between the programme director, course organiser and the student. The project types undertaken will be selected according to the student¿s background, design understanding, experience and interests.
Course description The student will, with advice from programme and course directors, select various projects which will develop their skills as landscape architects. The briefs and site will be given and the students will work with tutor/s and peers on the development and realisation of their individual and group design proposals. Their portfolio of project/s will be submitted at the end of semester 1.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. analyse a site and brief based on a knowledge and understanding of both
  2. establish key issues that will drive the design process and follow a logical decision-making process
  3. develop abstract ideas into appropriate landscape design proposals
  4. analyse and select appropriate design solution/s
  5. communicate design solutions graphically and verbally
