Summary | A course for students with an intermediate in Chinese who wish to develop further their interest in business Chinese.
All students must take all elements of assessment.
Students with an advanced knowledge of Chinese language are not permitted to take this course and may be asked to withdraw from the course.
This course runs in semester 2.
On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take Chinese 2C (ASST08050). |
Course description |
Foundation Business Chinese 2 is the follow up to Foundation Business Chinese 1. Students who have successfully completed Foundation Business Chinese 1, Foundation Chinese Language 3 or have an equivalent knowledge (e.g. A-level, or HSK 3 or around 600 Chinese vocabulary) in the language will be ideally suited for this course.
This course contains two main aspects. It aims to:
1) further develop learner's upper intermediate knowledge of communication skill in the field of business Chinese.
2) The knowledge of contemporary Chinese society and culture will further improve students' cross-cultural understanding of the modern Chinese business world.
In hybrid teaching mode, a lecture component will be delivered asynchronously. Students will be assigned to a group for a one-hour live tutorial session.
At the end of this course, students will reach a degree of fluency in the familiar business life.
