Summary | Individuals in groups of 4/5 will be expected to dissect a whole human cadaver to the level of that contained in Grants Dissector. Dissection is carried out in two week blocks, with the anatomy covered in each block being assessed by an end of block viva. This part of the course runs throughout the entire semester and is largely self-directed, however there are regular "surgeries" when teaching staff are present to answer questions and help students with the dissections.
Learning Aims and Objectives:
1. To understand the anatomy of the Abdomen, Pelvis, Head and Neck both systematically and regionally.
2. To be able to clearly demonstrate and explain the anatomy as dissected.
3. To communicate confidently and competently using correct anatomical terminology.
4. To relate structure to function of the areas being dissected.
5. To relate the anatomy of clinical relevance. |
