Summary | This course provides training in Scottish Gaelic writing at an advanced level. The class will explore how to write about a variety of subjects (such as literary criticism, history and politics) clearly and confidently whilst examining specific points of Gaelic grammar. Students will also have an opportunity to pursue individual interests, such as creative writing and journalism, and the opportunity to have their work published in a Gaelic magazine. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Scottish Gaelic grammar, vocabulary and idiom
- translate texts from English into Scottish Gaelic accurately and clearly on a wide range of topics (such as politics, the environment and culture) and styles, displaying a sensitivity to the subtleties of Scottish Gaelic idiom
- identify and produce different registers of written Scottish Gaelic, and use the idiom and vocabulary appropriate to each
