Summary | The Module involves students who have completed CELT11012 Intermediate Gaelic 1 in study of further selected Scottish Gaelic texts, together with study of aspects of the current status and prospects of Scottish Gaelic, and ongoing language practical classes both oral and written.
This course is jointly taught with undergraduate students. PG students will receive at least one additional session of lecturer time in the form of a seminar or tutorial. |

Learning Outcomes
The Module aims to extend still further students' experience in and understanding of the Scottish Gaelic literature of the last three centuries, to increase their familiarity with, and powers of expression in, Scottish Gaelic, and to provide a detailed introduction to the analysis of the contemporary varieties of Gaelic, its variation, sociolinguistic position, and future prospects. Students will emerge from the Module with a sound competence in speaking, reading and writing Scottish Gaelic.
