Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge & understanding of their chosen research field including a critique of best practice in the subject area.
  2. Demonstrate required research-specific practical skills and techniques resulting in original research outputs, including a foundation in research design and management; written, numerical, and analytical skills; production of scientific reports.
  3. Demonstrate critical thinking in a research project context including critical analysis and management of data, judging the relationship between theory and methodology, and assessment of the appropriate techniques and/or data analysis to address the research question.
  4. Demonstrate the development of transferable skills including written, visual and oral dissemination of research findings, teamwork, project management, and organisational skills.
  5. Demonstrate the capability to produce an original piece of scientific research in the chosen research area.
