Summary | This course is designed to enable year abroad students who have been unable to complete their prescribed course of study to achieve credits needed to successfully achieve a degree award. |
Course description |
The year abroad is a compulsory component of many degrees in the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures. Most year abroad students are able to complete the assessments required of them by their degree programme tables. However, due to a range of unpredictable factors including political instability, extreme weather, or natural disasters, a small number of students return to Edinburgh having been unable to complete their studies and as such do not have adequate credits to graduate.
This course is designed to give students the opportunity to gain those missed credits and thus enable them to graduate. Students will be offered alternate pass/fail assessment in their subject areas that assure relevant learning outcomes have been met.
