| Summary | The course will introduce students to a range of theoretical, practical and methodological approaches needed for postgraduate study in Celtic and Scottish Ethnology. Lectures in the first term will cover a variety of generic training and theoretical topics. Lectures and workshops in the second term will provide more subject-specific training in medieval Celtic, modern Celtic and Scottish Ethnology subject areas. A weekly writing workshop will develop students' practical writing and research skills; this will be staff-led in Term 1 and student-run in Term 2. |

Learning Outcomes
| Students will receive preparation and support for their own research, and insight into practical, theoretical and methodological aspects of study in Celtic and Scottish Ethnology.
