SummaryThis course will equip students with the ability to make informed and effective choices about their education, which will enhance their ability to have fulfilling and satisfying careers.
Course description The aim of the course is to develop your ability to make informed and effective choices about your ongoing education and extra-curricular/work experiences, which will enhance your ability to choose and embark on fulfilling and satisfying careers in the future. Additionally, it aims to help develop some key Graduate Attributes ¿ the range of skills, abilities and dispositions you will need for employment after University.

The objectives of the course are to equip you with the ability to:
-make informed decisions about course choices within your degree programme
-plan your activities to acquire knowledge and skills
-identify and communicate the career-planning knowledge and skills you have acquired
-appreciate the relevance of these activities to your future careers
-learn, and reflect on, skills involved in group work
-learn the skills linked with making effective presentations.

Student Learning Experience

The lecture programme provides details of the opportunities within the programme and beyond. It will detail decision-making strategies, provide ability to develop a curriculum vitae and action plan, and provide insights into the graduate labour market and the requirements of employers. It will encourage a reflective approach to learning, and will encompass an element of peer learning/peer feedback. It will also provide you with knowledge of formal presentation skills.
