| Summary | From the initial protocol and the development of the literature review, students will learn:
how to formulate both a research hypothesis or an audit protocol.
about data collection from laboratory, clinical, or other methods,
how to analyse the results,
how to present the discussion and conclusions.
writing a paper for publication in a peer-reviewed journal will form part of this process.
Training in the use of basic statistics will also form part of this course
Clinical governance and audit will also be taught as part of this course. The student will be taught the difference between audit and research

| Course description |
This course will teach students how to formulate both a research proposal and a clinical audit / governance project. The differences between audit and research will be emphasised. Training in basic statistics will also be carried out. Scientific writing for publication will also form part of the module.
