Course description |
The histology, biochemical and histochemical changes that take place in bone and the supporting tissues during tooth movement will be presented. Anomalies and problems with tooth movement will form part of this module.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Be able to describe the normal anatomy of the tooth attachment to bone
- Be able to describe the changes that take place in the periodontal ligament and bone when force is applied to the tooth
- Understand the basics of the biochemical and histochemical pathway that results in tooth movement and bone remodelling
