| Course description |
This course is designed to ensure that the students have relevant theoretical knowledge of the removal of teeth (extraction, luxation, elevation, and surgical removal), management of complications of the removal of teeth and biopsy techniques. It will also introduce the students to dental implantology and dento-alveolar trauma. This will be delivered in flat space and clinical skills classrooms.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate a thorough and working understanding of extraction, luxation, elevation, and surgical removal of teeth.
- Describe the management of complications of the removal of teeth with reference to the literature and guidelines as appropriate
- Understand the indications for the various oral biopsy techniques.
- Understand the indications and initial planning for implantology and critique the relevant literature
- Be able to discuss and evaluate contemporaneous management of the various facets of dento-alveolar trauma
