Summary | This course is devised to allow students to build collaborative working skills in a peer to peer learning environment. Visual communication skills will continue to be built on through creative documentation of a fashion internship experience with final year students and continuation of fashion drawing development. A basic introduction to layout, presentation methods and online presence will be incorporated into the course. |
Course description |
Students on this course will develop an understanding of process led learning, working alongside final year students in a collaborative environment. This is an opportunity to develop verbal communication skills through peer-to-peer engagement including presentations to larger groups, tutorials and participation in self and peer assessment including written and verbal feedback with an emphasis on communicating effectively.
Students will have the opportunity to develop strategies for solving visual communication problems including developing a website, photo shoot and styling, illustration development and technical drawing skills.
Students will consider the importance of illustrative, digital and written communication methods in the building of a fashion narrative. They will also have the opportunity to consider wider industry connections, building a digital contact file for the future.

Other requirements | This course is open to ALL STUDENTS and enrolments are managed on a first come first served basis until the course is full. The course will be open to enrolments from Thursday 13th September at 9.30am. Please sign up for the course through your own School (they will advise if this is done your PT, SSO or Teaching Office). We do not currently keep a waiting list. |
Additional Costs | Basic costs of paper/sketchbooks/drawing materials estimated at £30-£40 per course students are asked to consider using recycled papers and materials to limit overall costs. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Create and document an in-depth body of visual and analytical research relating to visual and written communication in the fashion industry.
- Develop a variety of experimental presentation techniques that can be applied to both digital and physical formats.
- Generate and present an individual, online professional website in order to communicate a fully resolved body of completed coursework.
