SummaryThis course provides students with an opportunity to consolidate their work to date with edited project work, a portfolio and other personal promotional material.
Course description This course involves students looking outward from their final semester and thinking proactively about life after graduation. Students will design a body of work and all relevant personal collateral in order to prepare for their professional life. Students will reflect back on their work to date from their final senior year(s) and edit accordingly. Research and preliminary work will be streamlined, projects will be finalised and made ready for an audience setting.

There will be multiple opportunities for discussion and negotiation with each other.

Prohibited Combinations Other requirements This course is only available to students on a Degree Programme in the School of Design.
Additional Costs Approx. £150. Minimal costs related to visits plus materials students may wish to purchase to facilitate their practice such as printing, paper, props etc.

Exposition Body of Work (100%)
A finalised body of work will include; pdf Portfolio; CV; Business Card; Self-promotion item/strategy.

Formative Assessment:

PechaKucha Style Presentation - a mid-course PechaKucha 5 slide x 20 second presentation about your personal philosophy, identity, and plans for your body of work.

Feedback Formative Feedback
Mid-way through the Course students will be given verbal feedback.

Summative Feedback
At the end of the Course students will be given summative grades.

  1. Critically evaluate the graphic design discipline and identify where they wish to position themselves.
