SummaryAssessment of oral language skills
Course description This course consists of weekly classes where the spoken skills in the target language will be developed. In the course, students will perfect their grammatical correctness, advance their range of vocabulary, learn to summarise and discuss topics within a variety of subjects, and they will learn to understand the use of style and register in spoken Norwegian. Teaching of this course is integrated alongside teaching for Scandinavian Studies Language Paper 1.

The method of instruction is synchronous small-group language teaching aiming at oral proficiency, making use of video material and articles from Norwegian newspapers and magazines available on the Internet. Each week, students are also expected to prepare for the synchronous sessions by completing the asynchronous preparation outlined in that week¿s instructions, individually and in groups, and to keep their knowledge of Norwegian current affairs up-to-date.
