Summary | This course will provide students with the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the academic skills required to write and plan a successful academic research project. It will be structured to follow the process of writing a research proposal (research methods, sourcing information, critical reading and evaluation, critical writing and research ethics) and will support students preparing for assessment and dissertation projects. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate research and information skills required to source evidence from the academic literature and also from grey literature
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of a variety of different research methods used in public and global health research
- Critically interpret and use research evidence in an applied context
- Reflectively evaluate on your own learning and research planning processes, in order to be able to apply this to future research projects and enquiries
