Summary | This course gives an introduction to the main branches and traditions of religious thought and manifestations of religious culture, which developed over the centuries following the rise of Islam up to the modern period. These include religious law, theology, philosophy, Sufism and political thought. The course will explore central themes in these fields, but will also focus on some narrower topics of interest, which may be relevant to the contemporary situation. |
