Summary | This course discusses the salient features of the mystical dimension within Islam and covers the historical background of the tradition and the foremost personalities who played a major role in its development. Moreover, it will examine the primary concepts promoted in Sufism and their manifestation, in both a religious and social context, through translations of the classical works that present both Sufi theory and practice. |

- read and understand various types of Sufi texts in translation.
