| Summary | This course is a continuation of AAG in which students are exposed to wider range of topics and skills, acquiring a high level as well as register in spoken and written Arabic. |
| Course description |
AAH is aimed at honing the four skills (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking) using more complex and sophisticated level of Arabic. The students are also trained in translation (both ways ) as well as interpreting. For instance, the students will be able to discuss and debate issues in intellectual Arabic around controversial societal and political issues during and after the Arab Spring. They will also get an insight into Arab Women Literature, Palestinian Literature and Postcolonial Literature through the analysis of some short stories, poems and academic articles.

Other requirements | Course only available to students on MSc Advanced Arabic, MSc Middle Eastern Studies with Advanced Arabic or MSc International Relations of the Middle East with Advanced Arabic.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- hone communicative Arabic skills in speaking through a wide range of communicative activities.
- use their Arabic in simulated practical ways such as interpreting and presenting.
- listen to Arabic interviews and summarise their content.
- fine tune their Arabic so that correct language is used in the correct context.
