| Summary | This course is set to enable third year students to actively plan, successfully complete and creatively capture reflections on their clinical elective experience. The chosen placement has to be set within a different care environment to the ones offered along their Adult Branch learning pathway. Students will gain the knowledge and skills to maximise their capacity for self-direction, reflection and creativity in presenting their learning to peers. |

International nursing market
Equality and Diversity
Identity & Culture
Culturally based healing
Culturally based health and illness - belief and practices
Transcultural nursing theories and models

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate originality and creativity in the use of self-authorship software to enhance submitted academic work
- Exercise substantial autonomy and initiative in planning, carrying out and completing a complex project that charts own personal and professional development
- Demonstrate critical understanding of key learning theories and cultural competence concepts and principles
- Apply critical analysis to personal reflection concerning cultural encounters in the pre departure phase of the course
- Reflect on own developing practice and the role culturally specific and generic cultural competence have in delivering holistic care provision.
