SummaryThis course will look in depth at the structure of the NHS as well as principles of management and administration, clinical teams, communication skills, consent and confidentiality as well as equality and diversity in the service.
Course description This course is designed to ensure that the students have an understanding of the structure of the National Health Service, and understand the principles of management and administration. It will look into the structure and function of the clinical teams that make up the NHS. There will be emphasis on good communication skills between all members of the team, including the patient. The policies of consent and confidentiality & equality and diversity will be scrutinised.

  1. Demonstrate a thorough and working understanding the of the structure of the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK
  2. Describe the management of clinical teams within the NHS
  3. Discuss, evaluate and understand the importance of communication skills in the work place
  4. Discuss, evaluate and understand the importance and implications of the policies on consent and confidentiality & equality and diversity whilst in the NHS
