Course description |
Design and organisation of a literature review with a systematic literature search, appraisal of methodological quality, data extraction and evaluation and narrative synthesis in preparation for a peer-reviewed publication. Alternatively, design and organisation of a clinical governance project relevant to the management of a child or adolescent patient including data collection and analysis write-up.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Be competent in the design and organisation of a literature review / clinical audit project
- Obtain, critically appraise, summarise and synthesise clinical and research material from a range of appropriate resources
- Evaluate research appropriate to the discipline
- Consider, appraise and evaluate the relative benefits of different modalities of dental treatment appropriate to the discipline
- Compile a literature review / clinical audit for peer-reviewed publication / poster presentation
