Summary | This course aims to enable students to plan an evidence-based, ethical and feasible research project and to critically reflect on the process. The course will develop these skills for both students who are planning on doing a dissertation project, and those who are conducting other types of research projects. |
Course description |
This five-week, 10-credit course will provide students with the opportunity to develop some of the practical research skills required to plan and carry out an academic research project, as well as enhance their capacity for self-directed learning, independent enquiry and critical engagement with the academic research literature. This course takes an applied approach, rather than a theoretical one, so students will learn about research skills by putting them into practice and by carrying out some of the steps involved in the research process and critically reflecting upon their own skills and how these are developing.
