Summary | This course covers, firstly, common clinical urological problems including haematuria, retention, and scrotal swellings, and secondly, the basic sciences and clinical conditions of some of the structures of the head and neck. |
Course description |
Through self-directed learning, online content will deliver key concepts relating to the surgical specialties of urology and ENT/OMFS. Students will be required to work through weekly online activities, including discussion boards, and formative MCQ quizzes.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify, conceptualise and define the most common urological conditions of adulthood, their presentation as elective and emergency cases, and the indications for urgent assessment and diagnosis by specialist colleagues
- Deduce the diagnosis, investigation, and management of organ-specific urological malignancies
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of the relevant basic scientific principles for common surgical procedures relating to diseases of the head and neck
- Communicate with peers, more senior colleagues and specialists
- Apply critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis to issues which are at the forefront of ENT and Urology
