Year 4 Academic year: 2021/22, Starting in: August

Notes:
-- PLEASE NOTE: There will be no further admissions to this programme which is now only available for Years 4 and 5 --

- Entry to Year 4 MEng -
Entry to Year 4 of the MEng programme normally requires an average of 55% in third year, at the first attempt. Those not achieving an average of 55% or above will be required to transfer to Year 4 of the BEng programme.

- University Progression Rules -
In Years 3, 4, and 5 the University progression and graduation rules normally require full passes in 80 credits of courses with an overall average of 40% or more for the 120 credits of study taken in the relevant honours year.

If a student has not achieved a pass mark in Professional Issues for Mechanical Engineers 3, they have to take and pass Practical Skills in Mechanical Engineering in year 4.

If a student has not achieved a pass mark in Mechanical Engineering Design 2A, then the Interdisciplinary Group Design Project must be passed.

Wind Energy (MECE11008) and Marine Energy (MECE11009) are compulsory, and may be taken in either Year 4 or Year 5.
