Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- understand and discuss the three main ethical theories; debate and investigate the relationship between ethics and animal welfare
- discuss the animal welfare policy and recommendations made by governments and other groups. They will also be able to describe how economics affects animal welfare policy
- understand concepts of legislation and how it is applied to animals;
- describe the different enforcement methods in worldwide animal use
- understand how animal welfare science gets translated into policy, recommendations and legislation, and understand the global applications of animal welfare ethics, policy and law.
