| Summary | This course will present the principles of scientific research; how to formulate a hypothesis; how to test this hypothesis; how to interpret the results; and how to present these as a research finding and dissertation. | 
 
| Course description | 
    
    From the initial protocol and the development of the literature review, students will learn how to formulate a research hypothesis, learn about data collection from laboratory, clinical, or other research methods, how to analyse the results, and to present the discussion and conclusions. Writing a paper for publication in a peer-reviewed journal will form part of this process.
