| Summary | Students will have the opportunity to explore critical and contemporary debates used in the study of visual and material culture |  
| Course description | This course introduces students to some of the key social issues facing contemporary society and the response of design and visual communication practices. Themes covered by the course include: disability, cultural difference, gender and ageing. The course is designed to enable students to think about design and visual culture in a critically engaged way. In this course students will also be encouraged to approach their own design practices in a reflexive manner. |
