| Summary | In this course, students will source and analyse appropriate research material from the broader external context of illustration, to inform the writing of a study proposal, other appropriate complementary documentation, and a professional record of their experience which will enable them to plan and develop a personal direction for their practice. |  
| Course description | Specifically, the aims of this course are: 
 To enable the student to identify, evaluate and reflect upon an appropriate range of professional contexts, including a period of personal engagement
 To enable the student to develop a coherent plan of study which demonstrates an emerging understanding of personal direction, as well as a range of reflective material and documentation showing consolidation of personal direction
 To develop the student's abilities in critical analysis, project management, and reflective appraisal.

| On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
