Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss the cultural, social and historical influences on our attitudes to dogs and cats
- Describe and debate animals as pets ¿ our responsibilities to their welfare
- Explain how to assess welfare of cats and dogs and appreciate the practical difficulties in doing this.
- Discuss companion animal population control and infectious disease control
- Discuss companion animals in trade; fur, meat and slaughter
